The product complies with the requirements of the European Biocide Regulation EU528/2012 Product Types 1-5, which means it is deemed not to be harmful to humans, animals, or plants.

Further, the product has been tested to BS EN 901 as being fit for human consumption when used in public drinking water supply networks for disinfection purposes ONLY.  The product is for external use ONLY, and absolutely NOT for direct internal consumption.

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is the latest strain in the Coronavirus family that includes SARS–CoV and MERS–CoV.

To date, no samples of Covid-19 have been made available for commercial testing, but in third party laboratory tests the active ingredient in DEW Disinfectant products Hypochlorous Acid has demonstrated effectiveness (99.9% inactivation) against Coronavirus strains from the same family as Covid-19, such as Bovine Coronavirus, SARS–CoV and MERS–CoV.
